Important Notice: Effective on or after May 2026 Month-End Billing, Fiserv's Card Account Updater (CAU) will be added to your merchant account. This service applies to Visa, MasterCard and Discover cards and provides your account with updated card account tokens for card numbers on file in CardPointe should those cards be expired or replaced. This service will be added with a monthly fee of $14.99 and a per match fee/per update fee of $0.49. The addendum containing Fiserv's program terms can be found on the last page of your merchant statement. This change will appear beginning on or after your May 2026 month-end statement. Continuing your merchant account with us or use of your merchant account per your agreement will constitute your acceptance to these terms unless you choose to opt out (see below).
What is Card Account Updater?
Card Account Updater is a feature that automatically refreshes expired or replaced credit cards so your recurring payments continue without interruption. It removes the need to track down customers for updated information and helps ensure your maintenance agreements, memberships, or recurring invoices bill successfully every month.
We’re enabling CAU because it significantly improves billing reliability, reduces failed transactions, and helps contractors keep customers on their maintenance plans or recurring programs. It’s designed to save your office staff time and increase your successful payments without any changes to how you operate today.
What are the benefits to my business?
Most contractors see fewer billing failures, fewer cancellations tied to outdated card info, and more predictable cash flow. Many businesses also reduce the amount of time their team spends reaching out for updated cards, allowing them to focus on scheduling and serving customers. It helps keep your recurring revenue running smoothly.
How do I opt out?
If you do not wish to utilize the Card Account Updater service, you may opt out at any time by:
Contacting WEX FSM Support. Reach out to our Customer Support team, and we will submit the removal request to Fiserv on your behalf.
Please keep in mind that opting out will require your staff to manually update any expired or replaced cards to ensure recurring payments are not interrupted.
